Updated and strengthened safety recommendations:

  • Do not use in patients with high blood pressure persistently elevated above 140/90 mm/Hg and which is not adequately controlled
  • All patients who start treatment should have blood pressure monitored within 2 weeks of starting and periodically thereafter

Suspension of marketing authorisation because of concerns about psychiatric side-effects:

  • Do not issue, renew, or dispense any prescriptions for rimonabant
