Further publications from the US Women's Health Initiative (WHI) trial on the risks and benefits of long-term HRT use have been published in the 'Journal of the American Medical Association'  (JAMA) on 27 May. New data relate to the risk of dementia and mild cognitive impairment. A further publication extends the information available from the WHI study published in July 2002, regarding the risk of stroke.
