Warfarin: changes to safety information

Please note: In October and November 2010, the MHRA moved from its Market Towers address to a new location on Buckingham Palace Road. Please go to the contact us section of the website for updated contact details.

Warfarin is an established anticoagulant medicine used to prevent or treat dangerous blood clots in the circulation. Following a UK review of adverse drug reaction reports, published literature and current practice guidelines, the safety sections in the product information for warfarin will be amended to give clearer, up-to-date advice.

The following Public Assessment Report (published December 2009) presents a summary of the review and the updated safety sections in the product information.

Download the Public Assessment ReportPDF file (opens in new window) (160Kb).

Go to the December edition of Drug Safety Update for further information.
