The Yellow Card Scheme is run by the MHRA and the Commission on Human Medicines (CHM), and it is used to collect information from anybody, health professionals and the general public, on suspected side effects or adverse drug reactions (ADRs) from a medicine.
The continued success of the Yellow Card Scheme depends on the willingness of people to report suspected adverse drug reactions.
We collect Yellow Card reports from anyone from the UK on:
- prescription medicines
- herbal remedies
- over-the-counter (OTC) medicines.
We also collect reports on ADRs suspected to be caused by unlicensed medicines in cosmetic treatments.
