Targeted healthcare professional groups

As part of our continuing drive to support healthcare professionals, we have set up this new section comprising information relevant to different healthcare professional specialities. It is currently being trialled for ophthalmologists, cardiologists and orthopaedic surgeons.

We intend to extend this section for other specialties. Therefore, we would be grateful for any comments on layout or content, irrespective of your specialty (please e-mail webusability@mhra.gsi.gov.uk).

Our aims are to:

  1. Rapidly alert healthcare professionals to any specialty-specific or important general safety issues relating to medical devices and medicines. 
  2. Encourage and promote reporting of adverse incidents or adverse drug reactions, an easy and rapid process using this website.
  3. Publicise and develop educational tools for the safe use of medical devices.
  4. Group together specialty-specific publications for ease of access.
