Advice and information for consumers

This section provides information and advice for consumers including the risks of buying products over the Internet, advice on buying herbal medicines and medical devices and what we are doing to combat the problem of counterfeit products.

For advice on individual treatment you should speak to your own healthcare professional such as your GP or local pharmacist who is best placed to help you. If you want to make a complaint against one of these professionals you will need to contact their governing body, which is the General Medical Council (GMC) in the case of a doctor and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) for pharmacists.
