Problem:
Due to an intermittent manufacturing fault there is a potential for the connectors on this tubing to be partially occluded resulting in ineffective suction.

Action by:
All NHS trusts, PCTs, private hospitals and care homes that use or purchase sterile suction tubing.
 

Action:

  • The manufacturer is recalling all potentially affected devices (please see manufacturer recall letter in the appendix).
  • Ensure that all relevant staff are aware of this recall.
  • Identify and quarantine affected stock.
  • All complete boxes should be returned via your usual distribution channel who will arrange for their replacement. Incomplete boxes will be replaced direct from the manufacturer upon receipt of the information requested in the attached manufacturer ‘confirmation of receipt’ form (see the appendix).
