Problem:
KaVo Dental Ltd have recalled all their QUATTROcare spray cans due to a risk of fire/explosion. QUATTROcare spray cans may leak flammable gases when attached to the QUATTROcare maintenance system.

All those involved in cleaning and maintaining dental handpieces

Action:

Do not use sources of ignition (switches, naked flames, electrostatic charges etc.) in the environment where the QUATTROcare maintenance system is situated.
Remove the QUATTROcare spray can from the maintenance system immediately.
Check whether oil has leaked from the valve on the spray can. If oil is visible on the can’s valve ventilate the room immediately.
Do not use the QUATTROcare maintenance system with spray cans that have been distributed prior to 05 March 2007.
Until an improved spray can is distributed by KaVo, clean and maintain dental handpieces using an alternative product as suggested by the manufacturer of the handpiece.
