Becton Dickinson issued a Field Safety Notice to customers on 02 November 2009. This Medical Device Alert has been issued to ensure that users are aware of this problem.

The manufacturer has received reports of air leaking into infusion lines through the BD Q-Syte connector.

Risk of air embolus to patients.

  • Identify, quarantine and do not use devices from affected lot numbers.
  • Contact Becton Dickinson to arrange for credit or replacement product.
