Problem:
Risk of spreader bar becoming detached in use and dropping the hoist occupant.

Action by:
All those involved in the provision, prescription, maintenance and use of these hoists. In particular: nurses, care staff, loan store managers, maintenance staff and contractors, and moving and handling coordinators.

 

Action:

  • Trace all Medi-Tec Classic hoists manufactured before 26 March 2008 that are in use or in storage.
  • Contact Aidservice Ltd. (Tel 01257 425 538) to arrange for the boom swivel assembly to be exchanged.
