Action by:
All those involved in the provision, prescription and use of these wheelchairs. In particular: wheelchair service managers, rehabilitation engineers and occupational therapists.

Action:

  • Trace all Beatle or Puma battery powered wheelchairs.
  • Provide each user with a copy of the amendment to the instructions for use on slopes (see appendix) and highlight the new limitations.
  • For wheelchairs with a FWD configuration consider fitting an anti-tip device, changing to the RWD configuration or provide an alternative wheelchair for users for whom these new limitations are unacceptable.
