Risk of electrocution to patients, bed occupants, staff and others.

Action by:
All those using, managing and maintaining hospital and community beds, in particular: nurses, maintenance staff and contractors.
 

Action:

  • Trace all Well-Shin WS-023 adapter leads, in use or storage, supplied with Eleganza and Praktika hospital beds and Homecare and Vitalia community beds, or supplied as spare parts.
  • Trace any of these adapter leads that have been transferred to other manufacturers’ beds with a European 2-pin plug.
  • If the date code on the 3-pin plug falls within the range 01/05 to 04/06 (see appendix) contact Huntleigh Healthcare Ltd on 01582 413 104 to order replacements, quoting part number S5761.
  • Replace the faulty adapter leads and destroy them.
