BD Medical 25 gauge spinal needles.

PROBLEM:
Leakage associated with the plastic hub of the needle leading to risk of under-infusion. The manufacturer has initiated a recall of certain lots.

 >

ACTION BY:
All staff who use this device, managers of supplies departments, anaesthetic departments, wards and operating theatres.		  

ACTION:

  • Immediately cease use of the product lots listed overleaf.
  • Locate and quarantine any affected products.
  • Ensure that the manufacturer is contacted to arrange collection and replacement of affected stock.
