The MHRA Annual Report and Accounts 2007/08 was published on 29 July 2008.
The successful format used last year has been repeated to give a selective overview of the events that have had most impact on the Agency during the past year, highlighting those which involve patients, healthcare delivery, the industries the Agency regulates, and the way the MHRA operates as an Agency. These include the improvement in the performance of the Agency over the past year, the conclusion of the four-year investigation into GlaxoSmithkline (GSK), changes in the recommendations for use of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), restrictions in the access to certain decongestant and other products containing ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, the Agency’s anti-countefeiting strategy, our input into important new changes to regulation at EU level, and the launch of a new monthly publication, Drug Safety Update.
