Devices Clinical have produced an education programme aimed at all healthcare professionals to help them to learn more about the safe use and management of medical devices in various healthcare environments.
This interactive training is in the form of a number of modules covering different hospital, primary care, social care and laboratory settings. It will afford the user the opportunity to progress at their own speed, answering questions and returning to the programme at their leisure.
The programme covers the general principles of using medical devices safely and includes:
- the principles of good practice and use of medical devices
- the principles involved in the purchase, storing, maintenance and training
- what users should know and ask before using a medical device
- how to report adverse incidents
- the basics of the Medical Devices Regulations
- a checklist for patients being discharged from an acute trust with a medical device.
This training programme is aimed at supporting one of the Agency's key targets to provide all healthcare professionals with greater knowledge about the regulation and safe use of devices.
