The MHRA became aware of advertisements for Metformin produced by Rosemont for healthcare professionals which were published in the Pharmaceutical Journal on 22 March 2008 and Geriatric Medicine of April 2008. The MHRA was concerned that the advertisements were misleading because they suggested that the product was in some way “better” than competitor products because it was “approved for stability, quality and consistency by a recognised authority” or “the ideal solution for everyone”.
Rosemont agreed to amend the advertisements.
