This section provides three lists of substances as detailed below.
Lists A and B are virtually identical to the two lists which have been available on the website for some time. These lists provide details of the conditions for POM, P or GSL supply of a substance. Minor changes have been made to the lists, in that the entry for any substance which now appears in List C has been reduced to a cross-reference.
List C (Consolidated list of substances in authorised products which have been reclassified since 1 April 2002) is new. This list comprises those substances which are present in authorised products that have been reclassified since 1 April 2002; it also includes substances which were reclassified before 1 April 2002, but which have additional product information requirements over and above the conditions for supply. The list covers both POM to P and P to GSL reclassifications. It provides, for each substance, details of the conditions for GSL, P or POM supply of a product containing that substance, together with, where appropriate, additional product information recommendations and requirements.
For ease of reference, we are continuing to provide substance-based, rather than product-based, information on legal status although, since 1 April 2002, reclassifications apply to products, not to substances. The three lists have no legal basis, but are intended to provide guidance to marketing authorisation holders considering future reclassifications for their products. Details of specific products can be obtained from our Information Centre. The lists will be updated following new reclassifications. Full details of a new reclassification will be given in List C, with a cross-reference in List A or List B as appropriate.
