It came to the attention of the MHRA that an advertisement for Metoject produced by Medac UK for healthcare professionals, published in Pharmaceutical Journal on 24 November 2007 claimed that Metoject was the ‘the only officially licensed MTX injection’, but there is another methotrexate product available as an injection.
Medac UK promptly agreed to amend their advertising to clarify that Metoject was the only methotrexate injection licensed for active Rheumatoid Arthritis.
