The MHRA was recently made aware of arrangements for an annual sales meeting for Celgene Limited to be held in a continental European location at the end of June 2010. It was alleged that NHS employees would be attending and that the overseas location meant that the arrangements would not comply with the legal requirement that hospitality should be strictly limited to the main purpose of the event.
The MHRA did not uphold the allegation. Celgene confirmed that the meeting was solely for its company staff and that no NHS employees would be attending.
