Advertising complaint - Iscador - Prescribing Guidance for Health Professionals, 2008 – April 2010

Please note: In October and November 2010, the MHRA moved from its Market Towers address to a new location on Buckingham Palace Road. Please go to the contact us section of the website for updated contact details.

A healthcare professional complained to the MHRA about a guidance document for Iscador Prescribing Guidance for Health Professionals, sponsored by Weleda. The complainant alleges that the guidance is misleading as it implies that Iscador has been assessed for efficacy when it has a Product Licence of Right (PLR) licence.

The MHRA upheld the complaint. Weleda agreed to produce an over sticker to go on the guidance document to explain that Iscador has been licensed as a PLR and its efficacy has not been assessed by the MHRA.
