A leaflet for ChloraPrep produced by CareFusion and distributed to healthcare professionals, was brought to the attention of the MHRA. Concerns were raised that the leaflet did not include prescribing information and implied that the product was endorsed by the MHRA by stating that it was, 'MHRA approved'.
The MHRA upheld the complaint. CareFusion agreed to amend the leaflet to include prescribing information and amend the information about the MHRA. It also agreed to review all its promotional materials to ensure compliance with the statutory requirements for prescribing information.
