Advertising complaint - Clinorette & Bedol, healthcare professional advertising - May 2008

Wyeth complained to the MHRA about the advertising material including a leavepiece and Dear Doctor letter for Clinorette and Bedol produced by Resource Medical UK Limited. The complainant alleged that the materials included claims which were inconsistent with the product Summary of Product Characteristics, were misleading presentations of data, unjustified use of the word “safe” and illegible prescribing information.

The MHRA upheld the complaint. Resource Medical UK Limited had already withdrawn all the promotional materials and have committed to ensuing that their future materials comply with medicines advertising legislation.
