How we can help

We can provide access to world-class regulatory knowledge, expertise and experience from within the MHRA.

The Innovation Office is open to queries relating to products or technologies that challenge the current regulatory framework, particularly those early in their development phase or in areas of regulatory uncertainty or fields undergoing rapid change. We can provide regulatory advice if you are developing a product which uses new or novel technology, materials, methods or approaches or manufacturing processes.

You might also consider if your query fits under the MHRA scientific advice service

Further guidance and support is available from the Innovation Office.

How to get in touch with the Innovation Office and what to expect

If you have a query about getting your innovation regulation ready, complete our form now.

Please include as much information as you can in the form and the specific reason(s) for seeking advice.

Once you have submitted your query, we will contact you within 20 working days (depending on the complexity of the query) with written regulatory information, advice and guidance to help you plan your next steps. In some cases, when our experts consider the issues to be complex or requiring clarification, we may propose an informal Innovation Surgery meeting (conducted remotely) to discuss the details of your query in more depth.
