This section, which will be further developed, provides educational programmes for our stakeholders about topics related to our work.
The educational programmes currently available are about medical devices.
The MHRA is the regulator for medical devices. All medical devices can fail but an increasing number of incidents resulting in significant morbidity arise out of user device interface problems or a lack of understanding of the mechanisms of action and potential problems that can arise in relation to the device in question.
Our first educational programme, 'Using medical devices safely' , was aimed at healthcare professionals to help them learn about the safe use and management of medical devices in various healthcare environments.
The MHRA receives repeated reports of problems associated with a number of devices and it was because of this that we decided to produce educational modules to address the issues associated in particular with the use of the device. To date we have covered two devices:
These modules are available for access at this site but are password protected because they are intended for professional educational purposes.
