Request a speaker

Speaker requests
MHRA speakers are renowned worldwide for their knowledge and expertise in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Regulation and regularly participate in both high profile international events and smaller low key events. We can provide you with experienced speakers to match your event needs and enhance your event programme.

If you would like an MHRA speaker at your event:

  1. All requests for Agency speakers to give external presentations are handled centrally.
  2. Requests should be made 4 to 6 months in advance. We will accept requests at shorter notice, but we are less likely to be able to provide you with suitable speakers.
  3. Requests are processed by our Conference and Education Speaker Facilitator.  Requests should be e-mailed to speakers@mhra.gsi.gov.uk. Alternatively complete the Speaker Request Form.
  4. Confirmation of acceptance of a speaking engagement is only given after internal authorisation processes have been completed. This can take between 4 to 6 weeks.

How do we provide speakers?

A dedicated member of staff uses a 3-step process:

Step 1

After receiving the initial request, the search for an appropriate speaker begins.

Step 2

Once a speaker has been identified and is able to participate in the event, an External Presentation Form is completed and submitted back to our dedicated team, who then forwards this on to the relevant management personnel within the Division.

Step 3

Once the internal approval system has been signed off, formal confirmation is given to the organisation requesting the speaker. Where possible suggestions for specific speakers are welcomed and appreciated.

What is the timetable for approval?

The Agency generally receives invitations for the majority of its speakers 4 to 6 months before the conference. We endeavour to get back to you within 4 weeks of the initial request, however in some cases the approval process may take longer. Please note we do not guarantee that a speaker will be available.
