The Commission is supported in its work by Expert Advisory Groups (EAGs) covering various therapeutic areas of medicine.
The Chairs of the three statutory EAGs namely Pharmacovigilance, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Standards and the Biologicals/Vaccines were appointed by the NHS Appointments Commission because they are also standing members of the Commission. In addition, several Commissioners chair EAGs. A list of establsihed EAGs is given below. It should be noted that each EAG will have as a minimum one lay representative.
The EAG Chairs and members are required to follow the Code of Practice on interests in the pharmaceutical industry.
