Michael Fox

Michael FoxMichael Fox has an extensive background in health and social care within and outside the Health Service. Michael joined the NHS in 1977 on its graduate scheme, and worked in a range of posts in hospital and community services before becoming Chief Executive of the Barking and Havering Family Health Services Authority in 1992.

In 1995 he was appointed as the first Chief Executive of the City and Hackney Community and Mental Healthcare Trust, and had the task of setting up the new organisation, including the successful completion of a complex £25m multi-site reprovision and closure programme.

In 1998 he became the founding Chief Executive of the Prince of Wales’s Health charity, the Foundation for Integrated Health whose aim is to encourage the integration of complementary and conventional approaches to healthcare. After successfully establishing the charity, which is now the UK’s leading exponent of integrated health, he stood down at the end of 2005 in order to develop other projects and interests.

He was Chairman for five years of London Cyrenians Housing which provides housing, care and support for vulnerable people. He is a member of the MHRA’s Risk and Audit Committee and now is Chairman of the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust.
